New labelling initiative
New Guideline Daily Allowance (GDA's) on pack
From the 1st January 2008 Dr. Oetker UK has decided to introduce Guideline Daily Allowance (GDA) information on the front of all its products. Dr. Oetker recognises the need to provide the appropriate nutritional information to our customers. This will ensure they are empowered to make diet and lifestyle choices that can lead to good health.
The GDA's will take two forms. Either as a single icon or as part of a larger set. This will depend on the space available for each product/pot/box. In addition our nutritional tables on the back of our packs will include the GDA %.
The GDA% is based on a 2000 calorie diet. The GDA scheme is recognised by the Confederation of the Food and Drink industries in the European Union (CIAA) and also by the Food and Drink Federation (FDF) in the UK. To date GDA labelling will be in 25 of the 27 European Union members states and in the UK 53 companies have adopted the scheme also including 6 retailers and 43 manufacturing companies.
Dr. Oetker is committed to ensuring our consumers have all the nutritional information they need to make food choices that are right for them.
